and I had a design session on iScribble to decide what the King's Own's uniforms should look like. After a few tries, we decided on the second row of costumes! The idea for the collar is inspired by *Maseiya's original design and the full tunic is half-inspired by an outfit she fully rendered and I chopped up.The description we were going off of was: POTS p. 42--loose dark trousers, chain mail shirt, blue tunic with silver trim, and a white burnoose; crimson band around biceps showed a dark circle with a black dot at center: sergeant band.
Instead of the generic cross symbol I have on the final costume design, *Maseiya came up with the awesome idea of wings! The third design is our favorite. ^_^ The wings will be symmetrical like the last drawing on this montage, one on each flap of the tunic.
The last row of stuff is random Own men. *Maseiya is so cool, right???

Looking good! I didn't actually realise those were crosses. I interpreted them as swords, which would make sense with the Tortallan flag. Where did the idea for wings come from?
From a technical aspect, a "chain mail shirt" would probable be a hauberk [link] as opposed to haubergeon since the King's Own are well armored. This means it would probably have full length sleeves and possibly reach a bit lower. Make sure to also include a gambeson [link] under the maille, not just the shirt that it looks like there is in the second row.
